Tristan Layne Hayes is finally here!!!

Wow we can't believe it, our little guy is here! Tristan Layne Hayes arrived on January 15th, 2009 at 5:17pm. He weighed 6lbs and 13oz and was 18 1/2 inches long.

He arrived 4 weeks early via a semi-emergency c-section. He decided he didn't want his momma to have to stay in the hospital on bed rest for a week so he broke my water at 36 weeks and 1 day.

At first, Tristan had a few problems, his lungs were a little immature so his respirations were extremely fast. He stayed in the normal nursery for the first 2 days on an IV not being able to eat. Then on the 3rd day he was moved to the NICU so he could have more vitamins and nutrients he needed. Finally on Sunday we were able to feed him with a bottle. His respirations slowly began to go down. We increased his formula intake every few feedings until he was finally up to where he was supposed to be. He stayed in the hospital for a week in the NICU! On his one week birthday he was finally able to come home!

He has been home for 2 days now and is doing great! He is sooo loved! He is a great sleeper and his first night home he only woke up once to eat. He loves to swing in his swing and he loves to be held! We are so blessed.

More to come soon.....

  1. He sure is good looking, he must take after his Poppa Tim. Sleeps like Poppa Tim, but needs to work on his eating, who ever heard of only eating once at night.
